"You won't spend the rest of your lives
chasing your own desires, but you will
be anxious to do the will of God."
2 Corinthians 3:4-5
"We are confident of all this because of our great
trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think
we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our
qualification comes from God."
Psalm 37:4 says, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
I believe that the Lord allowed me to experience this verse in this season. Many times over the past two years, I had to trust that the Lord knew what He was doing. Even when I hadn't felt His presence in months, I had to continue to trust that He had a purpose for all of this. Even when I felt like people were looking at me and thinking I was so incompetent with only a Masters degree (which actually happened, oddly enough), I had to trust that the Lord would be my provider and that the Lord would sustain me. And ultimately, when I finally learned to trust Him in this, he gave me the desire of my heart by allowing me the opportunity to go back to school. The desire of my heart has always been to earn this degree. But the motivation is no longer to become more important or to be seen as intelligent, it is to give all credit and honor to the Lord. I am excited to return to school this summer and to complete this degree over the next few years, Lord willing. God is good!
